It is more common in those who walk outdoors barefoot, especially in tropical regions.3,12 Common etiologies include sexually transmitted infections such as herpes simplex, lymphogranuloma venereum, chancroid, and syphilis, and lower extremity skin infections. Lymphomas, both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin, typically do not present in the inguinal region.
