342 of this cohort had microscopic hematuria, The mean age at onset of microscopic hematuria 78 months. Among subjects with microscopic hematuria, no cause of hematuria could be found in 80% of the cohort. The most common cause of hematuria encountered was hypercalciuria in the absence of stone disease, which was discovered in 16% of the group. 20% of the subjects with hypercalciuria had a family history of stone disease. Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis occurred in 4 subjects. No patient of the 109 tested had a positive assay for antinuclear antibody.
