У пациента, которого развилась побочка или эпизод, и поэтому он выбыл из трайла, не может считаться Dropout

В "Новоаглицком журнале медицины" в ориг. статье о РЕЛАе те 21% на даби или 16.6% на варфарине назывались "прекратившие прием (лекарства)":

Побочный эффект приведший к прекращению участия в исследовании - относится к any reason. Следовательно и к drop out.
Это если совсем русским языком.
