Multiple-Gated Acquisition Scans?
И ещё - informal care costs? naturalistic study that estimated inpatient costs, outpatient costs, and informal care costs... These indirect costs represent the loss of productivity due to breast cancer in the different disease states, and the value of the productivity loss was estimated using the human capital approach [36]. 36. Hodgson TA,MeinersMR. Cost-of-illnessmethodology: a guide to current practices and procedures. Milbank Mem Fund Q Health Soc 1982; 60(3): 429–462. quality of life The study by Lidgren et al. was used to estimate a percentage decline in HRQoL compared with the general age- and sex-matched population for each disease state. This reduction was then applied in the model to the general population values. The utility reductions used in the model are given in Table 3. For patients suffering from symptomatic congestive heart failure, we assumed that their utility was reduced by 50% for 6 months [40, 41]. |

When the outcomes are known in advance, patients can express a preference for one treatment or another. For example, if it can be stated that treatment will result in cure but at the cost of specified QoL disadvantages, patients can decide whether or not to accept the treatment. However, in most clinical situations there will be uncertainty regarding both the cure and the QoL outcomes. Usually, we can state only that there is a certain probability of cure and that this may be gained at possible QoL disadvantages. When preferences are assessed in the face of uncertainty, they are called utilities, because a patient might make one selection under uncertainty but might express a different preference if it were known what outcome would ensue.
] What are health utilities? l Utilities are cardinal values that represent the strength of an individual’s preferences for specific health-related outcomes. Measuring health utilities involves two main steps: defining a set of health states of interest, and valuing those health states. There are direct or indirect methods of utility valuation. The methods that have been used to collect data on utilities include the standard gamble approach, the time trade-off approach and the visual analogue approach. l The main indirect methods of utility measurement are: the use of generic preference instruments (EQ-5D, SF-6D and HUI); the use of disease-specific preference measures; and mapping from a disease-specific health-related quality of life instrument to a generic instrument. l Generic preference-based measures are increasingly being used in cost–utility analyses of pharmaceutical and other healthcare interventions. In the UK, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has specified the EQ-5D as its preferred method of utility measurement. l Utilities have been used as the preference weights (quality levels) within the quality-adjusted life-year model – an increasingly popular outcome measure used in pharmaceutical market access decision-making. |
Human Capital approach
In short, Smith saw human capital as skills, dexterity (physical, intellectual, psychological, etc) and judgment. Life helps a lot. On a national level, a country's ability to learn from the leader is a function of its stock of "human capital". Furthermore, human capital can be acquired through formal schooling and on-the-job training. A. W. Lewis is said to have begun the field of Economic Development and consequently the idea of human capital when he wrote in 1954 the "Economic Development with Unlimited Supplies of Labour." The term 'Human Capital' was not used due to its negative undertones until it was first discussed by Arthur Cecil Pigou,: "There is such a thing as investment in human capital as well as investment in material capital. So soon as this is recognised, the distinction between economy in consumption and economy in investment becomes blurred. For, up to a point, consumption is investment in personal productive capacity. This is especially important in connection with children: to reduce unduly expenditure on their consumption may greatly lower their efficiency in after-life. Even for adults, after we have descended a certain distance along the scale of wealth, so that we are beyond the region of luxuries and "unnecessary" comforts, a check to personal consumption is also a check to investment [1] The use of the term in the modern neoclassical economic literature dates back to Jacob Mincer's pioneering article "Investment in Human Capital and Personal Income Distribution" in The Journal of Political Economy in 1958. The best-known application of the idea of "human capital" in economics is that of Mincer and Gary Becker of the "Chicago School" of economics. Becker's book entitled Human Capital, published in 1964, became a standard reference for many years. In this view, human capital is similar to "physical means of production", e.g., factories and machines: one can invest in human capital (via education, training, medical treatment) and one's outputs depend partly on the rate of return on the human capital one owns. Thus, human capital is a means of production, into which additional investment yields additional output. Human capital is substitutable, but not transferable like land, labor, or fixed capital. |

generic inverse variance method ???
The inverse variance method of meta-analysis is a widely applicable approach to meta-analysis. It involves a weighted average of the effect estimates from the separate studies. The weight for each study is taken to be the inverse of the variance (one divided by the square of the standard error) of the effect estimate. A Generic inverse variance outcome requires two numbers: an effect estimate and its standard error for each of the trials to be combined. The effect estimate summarises the treatment effect in a clinical trial (for example as an odds ratio, a mean difference or a hazard ratio) and the standard error summarises the precision of the estimate (the sampling error within the study). These numbers may be used to perform a meta-analysis to combine results across multiple studies using the inverse variance method. The Generic inverse variance outcome should be used only when it is impossible or inappropriate to enter data as dichotomous, continuous or individual patient data. The most likely situations are: ◊ special study designs such as cross-over trials and other matched designs, cluster randomized trials or non-randomized studies ◊ special types of outcome such as time-to-event outcomes, ordinal outcomes or rates (events per unit time) ◊ special effect measures, such as hazard ratios, ratios of means or adjusted estimates. |
Что означает "More timely suppression"?
Birth defects are physical abnormalities that are present at birth; they are also called congenital abnormalities...
Major defects are structural abnormalities that affect the way a person looks and require medical and/or surgical treatment. Minor defects are abnormalities that do not cause serious health or social problems. |
congenital malformations - 7%, major malformations - 3%.
В известной песне "Jingle bells" есть строчка: "Bells on bob-tail ring".
|
Wound secretion, discharge from wound.

Сердечный толчок - apex beat or cardiac impulse.

cardiac impulse apex-beat increased cardiac strength decided impulse marked cardiac impulse cardiac impulse... increased in intensity

Significant renal clearance; avoid in patients with creatinine clearanсе <35 ml/min or adjust dose based on antifactor Xa levels Нарушение фильтрационной функции почек?
При creatinine clearanсе <35 ml/min или avoid или adjust dose based on antifactor Xa levels

Measurable имеет еще значение "умеренный; заметный" Англ-англ словарь Collins дает следующую трактовку этому слову: able to be measured; perceptible or significant |
